Gunn-Rita’s bike for the 2018 season

Gunn-Rita’s bike for the 2018 season

MERIDA powered athlete and all-round mountain bike legend Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå has been in touch with her latest bike design for the 2018 season.

Gunn-Rita will once again use the super light full carbon BIG.NINE for most of her 2018 season with the full suspension NINETY-SIX coming into play on some of the more rougher courses.

As in 2017, her XC bikes will be equipped with dropper posts from KS which give that extra bit of confidence and room to manoeuvre when the tracks become more demanding.

When it comes to the ‘further seating’ arrangements – Gunn-Rita relies on another long-time sponsor – saddle superpower VELO. The bike is equipped with a new exciting model which is not yet available in the market.

Gunn-Rita is keeping the Ikon pattern on the frame and the team jerseys as Maxxis stays on board as a sponsor on the Team Merida GunnRita.

Long stating supporter SRAM will be providing the drivetrain, brakes and RockShox suspension.

The unusual paint job is provided by Fatcreations who painted the bike in a beautiful Lavender colour that matches the team’s jersey perfectly. They also added the rainbow stripes and Norwegian flag to the design.

Gunn-Rita will be partaking in all four Championship this year: European Marathon Championships in Spilimbergo, the European Games XCO in Glasgow, the World Championships XCO in Lenzerheide and the World Marathon Championships (XCM) in Auronzo di Cadore.

The bike is ready to go for Gunn-Rita’s next rate outing – the Manerba del Garda Mountain Bike Race (6-8th April). It is a UCI 3-day stage race near Lake Garda and it will be the first adventure for her new MERIDA BIG.NINE.
